How Andar Bahar works
A single card — the joker (or "middle card") — is dealt face up. You bet on which side, Andar (inside/left) or Bahar (outside/right), will receive a card of the same rank first. The dealer then deals cards alternately to each side until a match appears. If the joker is the 7♠ and the 7♦ lands on Andar first, all Andar bets win. That's the whole game — which is exactly why it's so popular.
The first-side advantage — real numbers
The side that receives the first card after the joker has a genuine edge: it gets the first "shot" at matching, and with 3 matching ranks left in 51 cards, that first shot alone hits about 5.9% of the time.

- Skip the card-count side bets unless you're paying for entertainment; edges there run 4–10%.
